A Delicate Balance

My new collection of props, compliments of Mother Nature, inspired this particular painting.

I quickly discovered that "stone balancing" on an animal scapula bone is quite challenging. 

The art of balancing stones has ancient roots around the globe.  They have been used for navigation, marking trails, gravesites, food supplies, and as a way to commune with earth.  As a form of art,  stacked stones are seen as a symbol of the human desire for expression and the need to create.

"Rock balancing is more than just stacking stones.  It's a practice of finding balance in our lives, one rock at a time".
