UNREQUITED LOVE

In his 1970 book, Sex an Human Loving, psychiatrist Eric Berne said "Some say that one-sided love is better than none, but like half a loaf of bread, it is likely to grow hard and moldy soon.”

This song, Two Little Bluebirds, is from the 1925 musical comedy SUNNY which is essentially a love story around a couple that realizes after many problems, they do love each other.  The lonely looking bluebirds are symbolic of the struggles the couple shared.  Hopefully the story of the little birds will end happily also.
