The urge to nest is a powerful one. Often a bird can be seen scouting out a safe place to build a nest - sometimes in the strangest of places.

-Knots are more numerous than the stars; and equally mysterious and beautiful - John Turner
The profusion of ideas generated from my original series, KNOT PLAY, led to the next phase with this series - KNOT PLAY II. Knots truly are more numerous than the stars. Taking the complicated subject and visually translating it as play on words continues to be an enjoyable and amusing project.
While this phase of the collection leans to the more fanciful aspects, it still pays homage to the prehistoric phenomena of knots. Fundamental to human development, knots are man's oldest and most useful technical and decorative devices. And not to be overlooked, nature is also a great teacher of what cordage can accomplish - bird nests, spider webs, vines, etc.
